Addiction Policy Forum awards programs for saving lives

Harrisburg, PA —Addiction Policy Forum, a leading national nonprofit, recognized Commonwealth Prevention Alliance in its ‘Pennsylvania Innovations to Address Addiction: Ten Innovative Solutions that are Transforming Addiction Prevention, Treatment and Recovery’spotlighting innovative programs that address addiction and provide support for families and communities.

“The Pennsylvania Innovation Now report recognizes the innovators in this great state working every day to turn the tide on this epidemic through innovative programs such as Commonwealth Prevention Alliance,” says Jessica Hulsey Nickel, founder of Addiction Policy Forum.

The Commonwealth Prevention Alliance is the foremost prevention voice in Pennsylvania. It utilizes a grassroots effort to provide essential support to prevention efforts and provide consistent messaging statewide. Without their services, many rural counties and smaller communities wouldn’t have important prevention materials.

“We are an important resource to prevention specialists in the field,” says executive director Jeff Hanley. “Commonwealth Prevention Alliance acts as a liaison between state agencies and professionals in the field to help bridge that gap to improve the health of our communities.”
