Over the past year, the CTC of Greater Downingtown created and implemented programming to meet the needs of their community and to support youth and families. Some examples include:
~ A Parent Speaker Series
~ Development of a comprehensive social media campaign
~ A focus on using data to drive their decision and assist in selecting appropriate programming
~ Increased coalition participation
~ Participated in the Coalition Check-Up Project, which provides technical assistance for coalitions
The goal of this award is to recognize successful community coalitions that have utilized an innovative and creative primary prevention initiative/strategy to achieve strong community-level outcomes related to increasing positive youth behaviors by addressing the underlying causes. The program, practice, or environmental strategy must be part of a risk and protection-focused, data-driven, decision-making process that prioritizes goals, strategies, and desired outcomes.
Due to public health guidelines, we were not able to celebrate in person this year. However, you can view the coalition of the year introduction from Geoff Kolchin and the acceptance speech from Cynthia Black, CTC Board of Director (beginning at the 26:00 mark).
